TITLE: GOD LOVES YOU
Introduction:
We are living in a time whereby our worth is often measured by success, appearance, or performance. And this makes many people wonder and ask themselves, Am I truly loved? Am I worthy? And if these questions are not answered, they start creating fear, doubt, anxiety and insecurities.
God is bringing this message today, to answer these questions, to uplift somebody and to remind somebody that “God loves you”
When I say, “God loves you” This is not a fleeting sentiment or conditional approval. This is a foundational truth rooted in the heart of the Creator of heaven and earth.
This is who God is, this is His nature. It is not something He is trying to be. This is Him. He is Love.
God’s love, is so different from all the other types of love that we know and this is why;
1. God's Love is Personal and Very Intentional
And that is what makes God’s love different and special. From the very beginning, God has loved us not as part of a crowd, but as individuals. ‘
And that is why God can reach all of us at our various points of need. He can reach and touch us wherever we are.
Jeremiah 1:5
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
God loves you, and He Knows you by name
Isaiah 49:16
See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me.
This reminds me of the story of Jabez
1 Chronicles 4:9-10
Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, “Because I bore him in pain.” 10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So, God granted him what he requested.
2. God's Love is Unconditional and Sacrificial
Truth be told, when we love someone or when someone loves us it is because of something. We love this person because of how they look; we love this person because of what they tell us, or we love this person because of how they make us feel. There is always a why behind it. But is not with our God.
But God demonstrates His love for us, His love is so deep, His love is so pure
Romans 5:8 (NKJV)
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
John 3:16
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
This is how much God express His love for you and me, that He sent His son to die for us and redeem us from our way to hell
The greatest act of love in history was Jesus’ death on the cross. He took our place, bore our sin, and bridged the gap between us and God.
Jesus willingly endured rejection, pain, and death so we could be forgiven and brought into relationship with God. This wasn’t out of obligation—it was because of love.
While we didn’t know how to pray, while we didn't know how to seek God, while we didn't know how Christianity is like God sent His son to die for me and you. How deep can this love be. I can’t even comprehend it sometimes. The best part of this part is, He loves us not because of what we have done. There is no price we can pay that can fit what God did for us.
Let me ask you a question, as dirt as we were, as unclean as we were God loved us anyway, so what makes you think that God loves you less now?
Cause sometimes we go through things, and we start asking ourselves, Does God real love me? Does He care? The answer is Yes; God loves you. Now that you know Him, now that you have a relationship with Him, now that you call Him your Father, how can He love you less?
That’s a lie from the pit of hell. Let me tell you, the enemy is tricking your mind right now and wants you to feel like God doesn’t love you anymore, the enemy wants you to think that God doesn't care.
But I am here today to bind those thoughts in the Might Name of Jesus. That lie from the pits of hell is bound right now in Jesus Name. GOS LOVES YOU, He woke you up this morning, God is keeping you, God is sustaining you, God is providing for you.
God’s love Has been shed abroad and is available for anyone who is ready to receive it. God loves even the worst sinner. That person you think is the worst of the worst. God loves them and his love is available for them if they are ready to receive it.
3. God's Love is Redeeming
One thing about God is that He loves us so much, and His intention is that His love will reach out to us and completely change us.
And therefore, God will love us even when we are unfaithful,
God will still love us even when we reject Him
God will love us when we do not deserve His love
When I think of this kind of love that God is showing us, a story that comes to mind is the story of Prophet Hosea and Gomar in the Bible (Hosea 1-3)
The Story of Hosea and Gomer
This story is not just a love story filled with romantic moments or fairy-tale endings. It is a real, raw, and heart-wrenching portrayal of God’s unyielding love for His unfaithful people.
Hosea 1:2
When the Lord began to speak by Hosea, the Lord said to Hosea:
“Go, take yourself a wife of harlotry And children of harlotry, For the land has committed great harlotry By departing from the Lord.”
God instructs the prophet Hosea to marry Gomer, a woman who is unfaithful, the Bible calls her a prostitute.
Hosea’s relationship with Gomer was meant to mirror the relationship between God and us.
Despite Hosea’s love and commitment, Gomer is unfaithful. She leaves her husband and ends up with other men. Imagine Hosea’s pain. Betrayed, humiliated, abandoned.
Yet, this is the same pain God feels when His people choose idols, sin, and self over Him.
Go Again and Love Her
Here is where the story takes a radical turn, where the heartbeat of God’s love is fully revealed.
Hosea 3:1 (NKJV)
Then the Lord said to me, “Go again, love a woman who is loved by a lover and is committing adultery, just like the love of the Lord for the children of Israel, who look to other gods and love the raisin cakes of the pagans.”
God doesn’t just tell Hosea to forgive Gomer from afar; He tells him to pursue her, to buy her back, and to love her again.
Can you imagine Hosea goes and take Gomer back, not to embarrass her, not to punish her but to restore her. To take her back home, where she belongs.
Has God ever told you to love somebody that has hurt you before
Has God ever told you to forgive someone that has hurt you so bad before and you swore to yourself that I will never forgive this person for what they have done
This is redemption. Hosea doesn’t just forgive Gomer—he pays a price to bring her back.
Hosea 3:2
So I bought her for myself for fifteen shekels of silver, and one and one-half homers of barley.
Even after Gomer’s betrayal, God says, “I will make you Mine again.” Not temporarily, but forever.
God is still saying today: “Go again. Love again. Restore again.”
What Does This Mean for You?
Do you feel unworthy of God’s love? So did Gomer. But God loved her anyway.
Have you strayed from God’s path? So did Israel. But God welcomed them back.
Do you believe God could never forgive you? Think again. He bought you back with the blood of His Son.
Also, on top of all that, there is a big lesson we can learn from this story of Gomer.
Let’s no categorize people and put them in a certain place in our minds and think they don’t deserve God’s love the way we do. Gomer was not all that woman.
The Bible clearly says she was a harlotry. But God told a prophet to go marry this woman. This is to show you that God’s love can reach the low of the lowest.
That person that everyone has given up on, the love of God is available for them. That person that you think is not good enough, the love of God is available for them. That person that everyone calls them names, the love of God is available for them
So, if you see someone and you feel in your heart that they need God’s help, just pray for them. We were once there and It’s of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed for His compassion fails not.
Because God loves us so much, He redeemed us, He bought us back, not with silver or gold, but with the blood of His Son, Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 1:7
7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace
God's Love is Everlasting / God love is Eternal
One beautiful thing about God is that His love is not only for the time we are on earth, but it is eternal. When we go back to God, He will still love us. for God’s love does not expire. It is not based on mood or season. It’s eternal.
Jeremiah 31:3
(NKJV)
The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.
God loves us here, and He will forever love us. This is an assurance that the love of God is with us no matter what, and that is why
Romans 8:38-39 (NKJV)
38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Remember that nothing, I mean nothing can separate us from the love of God, the love of God is eternal. No problem, no trial, no tribulation will ever separate you form the Love of God.
The love of God does not mean that we will not go through things, The love of God means that He loves us in all states, at all times.
That’s why David said in Psalms 23:4
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
God’s love can carry you through every storm and turn pain into purpose.
God’s love does not guarantee that we won’t walk through valleys, but it guarantees that we will never walk them alone. His presence is our comfort.
His love is our strength. Even in our darkest hour, His everlasting love surrounds us and leads us toward hope and healing.
God’s eternal love also gives us hope for the life beyond this one. When this world fades and our time on earth is complete, His love still holds us. For believers in Christ, His love has prepared an eternal home—a place where we will dwell with Him forever.
Let’s Love God Back
You have heard of the depth of God’s love for you, how He forgiven you, redeemed you, and never stopped loving you.
You’ve seen the intentionality of His love, the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, and many ways God demonstrates His faithfulness over our lives daily.
You’ve seen how God loves you, not for what you have done but because of who He is.
But the question I have for you today is do you love God? How far can you go for this God? Can your actions prove that you love Him? Can people look at your life and say this sister or this brother loves God. When God looks down can He confidently say that my daughter or my son loves me.
Let Our Love Be More Than Words
It’s easy to say you love God, but the real test of love is found in our actions. Love is more than a feeling, it is a choice, a lifestyle, and a commitment that shows in how we live each day.
1 John 3:18 (NKJV)
My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.
Let our love for God be visible, tangible, and genuine. Let it be reflected in the way we treat others, in our obedience to His Word, in the sacrifices we make for His glory.
So today, let’s go beyond singing songs and speaking sweet words. Let’s love God with our time, our choices, our pursuit of holiness, and our willingness to say yes to whatever He asks us to do
Conclusion
God’s love for you is not just a doctrine it is a living reality. Whether you feel it or not, whether you’ve been walking with Him for years or just received Him yesterday, one thing remains true, God loves you.
He proved it through the cross, confirmed it through His Word, and demonstrates it daily through His presence.
"The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing." – Zephaniah 3:17 (NIV)
You are seen, you are known, and you are loved
